Match Report - Mar 25, 2006

Final Score: 4-0 (Peter 2, Charlie 2)

Players: Chai Liang, Choong Wei, Danial, Daniel, David, Francis, Hai Yee, Peter, Rudy, Tony, YK, Charlie

The Game: After given a week's break all of us seemed eager and refreshed for the game this week.

It was Danial's turn to be our custodian (Besides, Steven was called for 'Commonwealth Games' duty). We retained much of our quite successful line up of past few weeks. David was once again called upon to be our last man, and with regular defence of Daniel/Francis, Chai Liang and Choong Wei, protected our turf for a rare clean sheet.

Rudy on the left, did his best at distrupting the Whites defence with his dribbling and fast pace. While YK kept the mid field motion, Tony kept the ball off our side around the mid field. Hai Yee, playing right mid field in place of Choong Wei (did one of them miss the BKK flight?), provided most of the Beckham style crosses that contributed to our goals this week. Peter, slotted in the first and headed in the other. Charlie completed the other 2 goals before we end the first half.

Strategy changed for the second half playing a lone YK upfront aka Van NistelRooy. But alas, like Mr. "Rooy", he had not much luck as well. On the other hand, the Whites also changed tactics, and we saw Edmond leaving the defence and playing upfront with support and flanked by the rest of the mid fielders. Much of the actions then were in our quarter of the field.

Danial feeling that he had nothing much to do, threw the ball back at the Whites, for immediate counter attack. He was successful in getting Tony's glaring attention. Our central defenders (who is it?), not to be left behind, also managed to get him to test his highest voice decibel level. It was not helping when he was already on foul mood due to his earlier mis-firing attacks.

Kudos to Johnny for the 'saving' header of the goal-bound freekick from Edmond, much to the surprise of the rest of the Whites. Unfortunately, we did not see any more goal for second half. Or was it fortunate?

Injury: While dashing 20 meter for a free falling ball, Chai Liang was bumped off the on-rushing big sized Dave like a ping pong ball in the closing moments 90min, ending with a cramped calf. It was still sore after a day. Daniel was not fully fit, as he had over-exerted himself on bed and managed to get both his legs cramped at one go. Relax la!
