Match Report - Oct 29, 2005

Final Score:
4-2
David 2, Rudy, Peter: Ann Hoe, Peng Siew

Players:
Alvin, Chai Liang, Choong Wei, Daniel, David, Hai Yee, Peter, Rudy, Steven, Wyai Kay

The Game:
With Puasa, our team were automatically out by 3 players. Plus a few of us who cannot make it we end up with 10 players against 11 players.

The shortage of 1 player was hardly felt. We actually started with 9 players for about 10 minutes when Wyai Kay decided to make use of the toilet facility.

Anyway, we had a lot oppurtunity at the goal. Boon Huat played really well, in first half, stopping at least 4-5 goal (I think). Peter and Choong Wei made many misses. Alvin had a shot tipped over the bar brilliantly, that Edmond 'kowtow' to Boon Huat. It was funny.

The deadlock was broken by David's corner which Boon Huat failed to catch properly but instead deflected in. Ann Hoe shot a powerful equaliser out of the penalty box. Wyai Kay switched position with David, playing last man behind Daniel. Somehow, the flow in midfield much stabilised.

In the second half, Rudy was tripped near the outside box. Alvin made a clear goal bound free kick but was saved by Johnny's header clearance. Peter had a one on one counter attack handled by Boon Huat outside the box. Should have been a red card..

A penalty, after Wyai Kay's handball, was saved when Peng Siew shot weakly directly at Steven.

Peter's frustration continued when he hit the far post after dribbling past 4-5 players in the box. Luckily the rebound was scored by Rudy. And shortly after that, Peng Siew scored off a rebound, when Steven made a weak block after he was caught offguard by Daniel's unexpected header clearance.

Peter's persistence paid off when he finally scored and beat Boon Huat, after a header challenge with Andrew. David made a final overhead shot and Boon Huat fumbled in the catch and gifted us the final goal.

Keep it up guys.. although the game was very much given to us by Boon Huat. Maybe luck was on our side.

Injury:
None
