The Game:
Today the black team is strong. Along with the one of the Chinese guy, Edmond, Han and David Ong came back to the team. It was a hard game.
In the first half, our midfield struggled and we find difficulty getting past the half line. Our players were not creating enough spaces for each other to pass. The blacks were pressurising enough that everyone made mistakes. And there were many attacks down the flanks left and right.
The malay guy got the first goal of the day when our defense somehow leaked a through ball. Even with Steven half rushing out and diving could not reach the shot hit the far right post into the goal. Sigh.. I was about a metre and a half, I thought if I had ran a second earlier in the direction I could have saved it. But the Chinese guy open on left, made me hesitated for the run.
It is good that we remained positive about the game and did not give up in the second half. We fought hard to regained our lost balls. A through pass from YK to Alvin on the left allowed him to score from tight angle within metres from the goal. The equaliser kept the moral high.
The second goal came from an Alvin free kick, which David 'dummied' for Peter to score with a header. David, did you really dummied or missed? Anyway good job. Steven made a good crucial tip over from a David Ong shot. The Chew loaned from black in place of Hai Yee were impressive as our right-back, who terrorised the right flanks all the way to the goal. He even had a close one on one with the black keeper, which would have been a goal had it not been saved at the eleventh hour.
Admittedly we play better in the second half, with many shots at goal, although many were off-targets.
YK, please practice more shots at goal before the game. Steven, improve your ball anticipation sense. Also, please shout and direct your defense. Daniel, please remember to man-mark loose black players when under attack, instead of just back tracking aimlessly toward our goal post. I have to remember not to repeat those many silly clearances and passes, that put pressures on our team.
