Match Report - Nov 27, 2004

Final Score:
3-1 (Peter 2, Alvin 1, Edmond 1)

Players:
Predators have 2 players MIA. On our side, Francis could not make it this morning because his wife fell ill. As a result, 2 of our guest players play for opposition for a 10-aside game with Ajis on our side.

There were a slight change in our lineup. David played in our defence in Francis's absence. Alvin and Ajis played mid.

The Game:
Edmond scored the first goal when there was a slight confusion our defence in the goal area. The ball rolled in after hitting the far right post.

After that our defence sorted itself. However, there were still some errors, like me, nearly lost a ball to Ann Hoe after unnecessarily intercepting an outgoing ball. Should have let the ball out. Or the defence mix up providing opposition a few attacking chances at our goal. Fortunately, the goal attempts were unsuccessful.

Peter scored a goal after coming one on one with Boon Huat. The other goal materialised after Peter took advantage of the goal area mix up. Alvin provided the other goal.

Ajis play a crucial role in our midfield. His ball distribution is much better than when he first played for us. Even then our midfield lacked the 'punch' we need when David and Hai Yee had to take up defensive role. In contrast, Hamdan and Kadir both played very well. A few time we were off-tracked by their through passes.

Choong Wei did noticably varied his style. He did run left and right. Alvin's corner almost provided Peter another goal chance. Perhaps Peter should communicate (on and off field) with Alvin, on corner strategy (where to kick, how high, direction etc) to maximise the chances. Steven has to improve on his throw-in. A few of the throws were foul.

While we dominated the first half, we seems to be weaker in the second half. Possibly we played a bit more defensive then.

On a concluding note, perhaps players should shout to warn fellow player of opposition sneaking up from behind. We lost some balls this way. Overall, well done everyone.

There is no big field game until 11 Dec. Small field game on Dec 4? I will reconfirm by Tuesday or Wednesday this week.

Casualty:
Alvin twisted his leg in a tackle with Yew Min, he had to stop during the last quarter of the game.
